The Hidden Work of God in a Dry Season

There are some of you reading this right now…

and if you’re honest… you don’t feel the fire.

You love Jesus.

But the passion you once had?

It feels distant.

You’re showing up… but your heart feels quiet.

And the enemy would love to whisper,

“See? Something’s wrong with you.”

But Philippians 2 says something powerful:

“For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases Him…”

Did you catch that?

God doesn’t just give you the power to obey.

He gives you the desire.

Which means if you even care that your heart feels dry…

if you even notice the lack…

that’s evidence He’s already at work in you.

Dead hearts don’t long for desire.

Only living ones do.

Some of you are waiting to feel inspired before you obey.

But the Kingdom doesn’t move by feelings.

It moves by surrender.

You don’t manufacture fire.

You yield to the One who ignites it.

And then Paul presses further:

“Do everything without complaining and arguing… shine like bright lights in a crooked and perverse generation.”

Listen carefully.

The quickest way to dim your light is constant complaining.

The fastest way to lose credibility is constant contention.

In a culture addicted to outrage,

gratitude is revolutionary.

In a world fueled by division,

peace is prophetic.

Followers of Jesus don’t shine because life is easy.

We shine because Christ is alive in us.

So if you feel low on desire, don’t spiral.

Get before God – on your knees or on your face.

Pray honestly.

Obey quietly.

And trust this:

The same God who saved you is sanctifying you.

He is shaping your desires.

He is strengthening your will.

He is forming you into the likeness of Christ.

You are not abandoned.

You are being built.
